Panda pair arrive for Ueno debut

The Ueno Zoo is renting a pair of pandas from China, and they made their triumphant entry into Japan on Monday night. But what I loved from this Japan Times article was the lovely panda paint job on the ANA jet that ferried the creatures to Tokyo.

I can’t quite wrap my mind around the Harajuku girls sketch from new TV series Portlandia. While it is completely baffling, it is also very watchable. And rewatchable. I think I’m up to 3 or 4 viewings by now…
